About This Project

This Cultural Humility and Health Literacy project is sponsored by GRAAHI based on grant funding from the State of Michigan. We partnered with Infinity Consultation Group (ICG) to improve healthcare parity in the Grand Rapids African American community. We did this by offering free training in community resilience and cultural humility/cultural autobiography and held a series of focus groups with residents of Kent County to identify key barriers, experiences, and feedback on healthcare systems. All of this is done with the goal of creating more accessible and equitable healthcare systems.
